"About our Credit Union"

Clondalkin Credit Union Ltd was founded on Friday 28th September 1962, at a general meeting held in the library on Monastery Road. Forty five people were present at the inaugural general meeting. The following were elected as the first board of directors; Adrian Hyland, Kevin Galvin, Tom Woods, Dave Tyndall, Tom Kennedy, John Dalgetty and Eimar Spillane.

The initial savings of the credit union amounted to £101.00 (€128.25) which was collected from the 45 members present at the inaugural meeting.

Clondalkin Credit Union was the first credit union to register with the Registrar of Friendly Societies following the passing of the Credit Union Act, 1966.

Today, Clondalkin Credit Union has grown to 14,000 members with savings of €40 million.
